THE PROCESS
This is a design that is built on the day with you:
We’ll discuss the placement, size/space and type of line (weight/texture, etc), previous Mark-making work is used a visual guide/reference. I'll print a series of lines and marks, they’re cut out and taped to the body in an intuitive and reactionary way. This is where we get a good idea of the design, and the space it occupies. we remain at this stage rearranging the lines and marks until we’re both happy to proceed.
The next stage is to remove the cutout taped lines from the body and make them into a stencil, which we re-place onto the body, this is when you will see the design as close to what it will be when it’s tattooed. At this stage we have further discussion about the design specifics, line texture, line weight, how I think certain parts will be tattooed, what we like/don’t like, etc etc. Once we’re both happy we begin the tattoo.
During the tattoo I like to be able to move freely within the previously discussed boundaries, there are spontaneous moments that happen within the tattoo process, small lines and marks/movements of the hand that find their way into the design, these are organic inclusions, how and when and why these marks happen is unknown but it will be explained and discussed before any spontaneous or unplanned marks are tattooed.
Price examples do not reflect a set price or a rigid structure but more a guide to indicate where certain work sits in terms of pricing. (Due to the spatial nature of the larger pieces it is hard to photograph and showcase in the context of pricing)
Examples of pricing*
Tier 1 - $380-580 (hand size)
Tier 2 - $580- 720 (double hand size)
Tier 3 - $720-1200 (anything bigger)
